Fruity and perfumed the wine has a fresh, full palate with fine tannins and flavours of prune, cassis, black cherry and liquorice with notes of sandalwood and dark chocolate.

The vineyard of Paveil dates to the seventeenth century and once belonged to the Lords of Bretonneau one of whose members married under the reign of Louis XV, a daughter of the Chevalier de Rauzan. In 1862, Baron Alfred de Luze bought this beautiful area of 120 hectares and made its wines known worldwide. The Siberian winter of 1956 destroyed much of the vineyards and in 1960, Baron Geoffroy de Luze decided to restore the luster to the property. Methodically and patiently the makeover was undertaken: replanting the vineyard, winery restoration and renovation of the cellars. In 2004 Frederick Luze took over the management of the domain with his two sisters Margaret and Catherine. Sadly, Frederic de Luze passed away at just 54 in 2016.
