This skin contact Chenin Blanc shows a compelling nose of dried flowers, herbs, citrus and stone fruit to go with a certain grapiness. Great fruit concentration, bright acidity and some nice phenolic grip, the finish is long and savoury. Fantastic with Indian or Moroccan cuisine or a variety of cheeses. Produced from old dryland bushvines planted in 1972.
After travelling extensively in Portugal and Austria learning his craft Craig Hawkins returned to South Africa and became the winemaker at top Swartland estate Lammershoek.
